In 2009 Sigma Phi Epsilon and sorority Pi Beta Phi teamed up together for the annual Sing Song competition at SMU. The Sing Song competition is an annual event hosted every year by SMU's program counsel where fraternities, sororities and other organizations around campus partner together and put on their own production based on a specific theme. Their production last year was themed around classic Elvis Presley songs. Although sweeping several awards for best choreographer and best lead male vocal Sig Ep and Pi Phi finished in second place. In 2010 both teamed up together once again, and to the theme of Mary Poppins, Sig Ep and Pi Phi stepped up their game and won the first place prize for the Sing Song competition!
